ncAA Utility
Introduced as a photocrosslinking agent that was aliphatic rather than aromatic giving it more flexibility. Similar in structure to DiZPK.
ncAA Source
Exogenous - Synthesized
ncAA Availability
Synthetic routes are reported in the 2011 foundational paper and in the DOI: 10.1039/c0sc00373e paper
RS/tRNA Pair Usage Information
In the absence of a head-to-head comparison, it is unclear how the two RSs compare. The ABK RS is available on Addgene and seems to be used more often. The second foundational paper reported using WT MbPylRS for this ncAA and the third showed it could be used in yeast.
