RS/tRNA Additional Notes
Successfully incorporates fluorophenylalanines with fluorine substituents at the phenyl ring ranging from 2 to 5. Pentafluoro-phenylalanine(F5F) incorporation yielded 10 mg/L of full length sfGFP. Confirmed with ESI-MS

2,3,4,5-tetrafluorophenylalaine (F4F),14 3,4,5-trifluorophenylalanine (F3F), 3,5-difluorophenylalanine (F2F), and 3,4-difluorophenylalanine (F2F’) were also incorporated and yielded full length sfGFP. All were confirmed with ESI-MS, F2F' was shown to have displaced regular phenylalanine residues in sfGFP as well.
