In E. coli, plasmid pEt-GFPx242 was co-transformed alongside PhSeRS-K4 in the presence or absence of 1mM PhenylselenoCys. SDS-PAGE testing revealed full-length GFP expression solely in the presence of PhenylselenoCys with 5mg/L yield. Results were confirmed by ESI-MS.
